The story of ClemenGold Gin™ started with South Africa’s leading citrus brand ClemenGold® mandarins. Distilling a gin from this flavoursome citrus has been our dream which came true on the 1st of December 2016 at the launch of ClemenGold Gin™.
Our gin embodies the fresh flavours of citrus, which will add some zest to your celebrations and serve as a reminder of Golden Moments together.

how our gin is made
Our smooth yet complex ClemenGold Gin™ is made using natural and locally sourced ingredients. The process to create this sun-kissed gin involves a combination of maceration and vapour infusion.
Maceration is where botanicals are steeped in the liquid in the pot of the still. The distinctive aroma is obtained through vapour infusion, where the more delicate botanicals are placed in two baskets which sit above the pot still.
Each drop of ClemenGold Gin™ passes through these botanicals and the more delicate aromatic oils are extracted from them. Once the process is completed, each sip treats gin lovers to a truly delightful glass of citrusy gin!

Negroni Punch
Recipe developed by Claire Joy
Makes 1.5L
Ingredients
150ml ClemenGold Gin™️
100ml Campari
100ml Vermouth
1L Lemonade
2 ClemenGold®️ sliced, charred
6 Rosemary ice cubesMethod
Mix ClemenGold Gin™️, Campari, and Vermouth in a big jar with rosemary ice. Fill the jug with lemonade and stir.
Garnish with the charred ClemenGold slices
To make the rosemary ice cubes, simply place sprigs of rosemary into an ice tray. Fill with water and freeze.
To char the ClemenGold®️ slices, sprinkle with icing sugar and blister with a blow torch. -
Citrus Punch

Makes 1.5L
Ingredients
125ml ClemenGold Gin™️
75ml Tequila
125ml grapefruit and honey syrup
50ml lime juice
450ml ClemenGold®️ mandarin juice
650ml Sparkling orange sodaMethod
Combine the ClemenGold Gin™️, tequila, syrup, lime juice, ClemenGold®️ mandarin juice in a jug with ice and stir well. Pour into individual glasses and finish with the orange soda. Garnish with fresh citrus slices.
For the syrup, combine 1 cup grapefruit juice and a ¼ cup honey in a small saucepan. Simmer on a low heat for 3 mins until reduced slightly. Allow to cool

Rose, Lemon and Raspberry Collins Punch

Makes 1.5L
Ingredients
250ml ClemenGold Gin™️
150ml raspberry and rose syrup
150ml lemon juice
900ml Soda water
2 lemons, sliced for garnish
½ cup raspberries for garnish
Rose petals for garnishMethod
Fill a big jug with ice. Add the ClemenGold Gin™️ and lemon juice and top up with the soda water. Add fresh lemon slices and raspberries into the punch jug. Pour 25ml of the raspberry and rose syrup into a high ball glass. Top with ice and then pour over the punch. Garnish with rose petals and fresh raspberries.
How to make the syrup: Place 1 cup of fresh raspberries in a small pot with ½ cup castor sugar and 50ml rose syrup and simmer until the sugar melts and the berries break down a little. Remove from the heat and strain the mixture. Allow the syrup to cool before using. -
Citrus and Vanilla Marshmallow Rounds

Makes: 6-8 (depending on glass size)
Ingredients
1.5 x 10g sachet gelatine
3/4 cup cold water, divided in half
1.5 cup sugar
3/4 cup golden syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Icing sugar for dusting
6 dried candied mandarinsMethod
In the bowl of a standing mixer, sprinkle the gelatine over half the cold water. Allow it to sit and absorb.
In a small sized pot, combine the sugar, golden syrup and remaining water. Bring to a boil on a medium heat. Cook until the mixture reaches 115°C. Avoid stirring the sugar, rather gently swirl the pot but be very careful of the hot sugar.
While the sugar cooks, sprinkle a thick layer of icing sugar over the base of a tray.
Once your sugar has reached the correct temperature, turn your mixer to low and carefully pour the hot sugar mixture into the gelatine mix. Turn the speed up to high and whip for 5 to 7 minutes. The mixture needs to still be a little runny in order to pour it into the tray, so keep checking the consistency.Once you have whipped the mixture until thicker but still fluid, quickly pour the marshmallow into the tray. Work quickly as the mixture will set fast. Press in dried candied oranges.
Allow to set in the refrigerator for 1-2hrs. Dust with icing sugar and then cut out circles and dust with more icing sugar. Pair the marshmallow with a ClemenGold Gin Aromas of Autumn cocktail (recipe under cocktail recipes). -
Lemon and Chia Wafers
Recipe developed by Claire Joy
Ingredients
1/8 cup (25g) milk
80g unsalted butter, cut into pieces
80g sugar
1.5 tablespoons (25 g) golden syrup
1 cup (130 g) Chia seedsMethod
Put the milk, butter, sugar, and golden syrup in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in the chia seeds.
Transfer to a bowl, cover with plastic, and refrigerate for 3hrs or pop in the freezer for 30-60mins.
Heat the oven to 170°C.
Spread a third of the chilled mixture onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper roughly 1cm in thickness.
Bake until golden, about 10 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through baking.
Remove it from the oven, let it cool for a few seconds and then cut out circle shapes using a cookie cutter but without removing the circle. Let cool completely and then gently remove the circles. Store leftover mixture in an airtight container. Enjoy by simply placing a few circles onto the top of a cocktail glassed filled with a grapefruit gimlet. The chia and lemon wafers compliment the sour grapefruit by adding a hint of sweetness. -
Ginger Smash
Ingredients
25ml Clemengold Gin™
15ml lime juice
15ml simple syrup
Fresh basil
Fresh ginger
50ml kombucha of your choiceMethod
Add gin, lime juice, sugar syrup, a few basil leaves and a knob of fresh ginger to a shaker.
Muddle gently.
Add ice and shake vigorously.
Strain the mix into a high-ball filled with ice.
Top with kombucha and garnish with fresh basil. -
Gin Biscotti
Ingredients
25ml ClemenGold Gin™
15ml Amaretto
10ml Gingerbread syrup*
Garnish with a dehydrated orange wheel and biscottiMethod
Add ice or a large ice rock to a tumbler.
Combine the gin, amaretto, gingerbread
syrup and bitters in a mixing glass.
Add ice and stir until well chilled. Using a hawthorne strainer, strain the mix into the tumbler.
Garnish and enjoy!*Gingerbread syrup
Ingredients:
500g caster sugar
500ml water
2tsp ground ginger
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla esssence.Method: Place sugar, water, ginger and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Add vanilla essence and allow to cool. Store in a clean bottle.
Store bought alternative: Nettari Gingerbread syrup.

Ingredients
250g sugar
½ cup water 2-3 ClemenGold® (or other citrus) peels
½ cup lime juiceMethod
Heat ingredients in a pan over medium heat until sugar dissolves
Bring to the boil and simmer until it achieves a syrupy consistency

Elderflower Collins
Imagine sipping on this one in Spring, in a garden full of flowers, with friends that make you laugh, on a picnic with a view.
Ingredients
50ml ClemenGold GinTM
25ml Elderflower syrup
25ml lemon juice
Soda waterMethod
Fill a highball glass with ice.
Build the cocktail with gin, elderflower syrup and lemon juice and top up with soda water.
Garnish with a fresh or dried lemon wheel and a sprig of mint.

Bees Knees (traditionally a Prohibition drink) refers to something at the height of excellence. How apt for ClemenGold GinTM! Enjoy during a long leisurely weekend spent with friends, or on a sunny Sunday afternoon filled with Golden Moments.
Ingredients
50ml ClemenGold GinTM
25ml lemon juice
1 tsp. / 20ml honeyMethod
Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice.
Fill your cocktail shaker with gin, lemon juice, and honey.
Shake hard and double strain into the glass after removing ice. Serve with citrus zest.
Sit back and enjoy! -

50ml ClemenGold GinTM
35ml Port-style wine
25ml orange juice
15ml lemon juice
10ml ClemenGold® spiced sugar syrup (add cinnamon and nutmeg to the syrup recipe preceding this recipe)
1 egg white or 15ml of cellulose**Cellulose is a plant-based product that provides that foamy topping
Method
Add gin, Port-style wine, orange juice, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white (or cellulose) to a shaker
Fill with ice and shake vigorously
Strain liquid into your second shaker tin. Remove ice and dry shake the remaining liquid
Pour into a chilled glass and dust lightly with cinnamon powder
Sip and enjoy! -
White Chocolate ClemenGold® Gimlet
(perhaps mention what a Gimlet is: traditionally a gin with lime juice, but you can use lemon juice as well)
